The Planetary Watch – Harry Winston Opus X
Probably the most exciting and most complicated watch and movement to come out of the Baselworld 2010 timekeeping exposition is the Harry Winston Opus X. This watch features a planetary movement on a fascination scale that is just mesmerizing. There are three independent rotating dials in the main face that revolve freely around the watch like an orrery. However, somebody has already named another watch with a geocentric orbit an orrery watch – so planetary watch nickname seems best for the Opus X. The Facebook page (the watch even has its own Facebook page!) even gives a video demo of the full and amazing operation of the watch. You may not be able to locate the real watch – but you might be able to buy a Harry Winston replica watch if you are lucky!
Replicas of this great name are few and far between. One of the very nicest is the IR “Harry Winston Premier Chronograph Automatic Rose Gold Case Diamond Bezel Number One” – which is exactly what the watch is purported to be. It does come in a very lovely round “gem-encrusted rose gold” case with a matching black leather strap. Even the three sub-dials are embedded with faux gemstones. The dial appears to be of faux mother-of-pearl, too. This treasure watch is sure to look great on your lady’s arm.
A very good follow-up to that is the IR “Harry Winston Premier Chronograph Automatic” Collection. The designs are offered in your choice with faux gemstones or without. The entire collection, like the singular Number One (mentioned above) are true chronometers. All have displays for month, date and 24-hour times. All are contained in a ladies’ sized case with a feminine leather wrist strap. “H over W” monograms in cartouche, tradename and markings all appear authentic on these Harry Winston replica watches.
